| The Progression Tool Design option within
AUTO-Series allows the design of progressive
dies, both forming, cutting and tool design.
Starting from a 3D model the user can automatically
run through every stage of unfolding procedure,
deciding which bends must be opened at every
step, and the value of the opening angle.
The user can optimise the positioning of
pieces on the strip, define the layout of
the cutting punches and simulate the shearing
process. Component libraries from various
different suppliers guide the user through
the insertion of the main standard elements.
Assembly Manager can be used for automatic
parts list creation. Tool details, sectional
views (variable) and automatic plate detailing
can all be created from the 3D model.
To complete the design process AUTO-MFR
(machining feature recognition) can be used
to automatically generate the drilling and
milling/pocketing cycles for each plate.
